Service Description
At Rafter 8 Market Farm, we understand the time, care, and dedication it takes to raise quality poultry. That’s why we’re proud to offer small-scale processing for local farmers and families. We handle every bird with the same respect we give our own, ensuring you receive clean, well-packaged poultry that’s ready for the freezer. What’s Included: Humane dispatch, scald, pluck, and evisceration Vacuum-sealed packaging (labeled “Not for Resale”) Professional handling and chilling for food safety Processing Rates Per Bird Less than 30 birds $5.00 30–75 birds $4.00 Over 75 birds $3.00 Optional Add-Ons: Parting Out (minimum 75 birds): $3.00 per bird Giblets Packaged: $0.25 per bird Feet Packaged: $0.25 per bird Drop-Off Requirements -Birds must arrive in clean, ventilated crates the morning of processing by 9 am. -Please fast birds beginning at noon the day prior. Provide plenty of water to keep them hydrated and help clean their systems out. -Bring coolers and ice for transporting finished birds home. Turnaround: Most flocks are ready for pickup the same day, chilled, vacuum-packed, and labeled. Booking & Contact: -Processing dates are limited and fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons. To guarantee a spot for your flock, please contact us in advance to schedule your processing day. The day you pick up your birds is a great day to schedule processing. Cancellation Policy
We understand that schedules change, and we want to make our processing service fair and predictable for our customers as well as our business. Please review our cancellation policy carefully: 1. Notice Required: Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 72 hours (3 days) before your scheduled processing day. 2. Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance may be subject to a processing deposit forfeit to cover preparation costs. 3. No-Shows: Customers who fail to arrive for their scheduled processing without notice will be considered a no-show. No-shows may be subject to full payment for the booked processing services. 4. Rescheduling: Rescheduling within the 72-hour window is subject to availability. We will do our best to accommodate new dates, but slots may be limited.
